Smexy Jenn:Hi… ME!
Author Jenn: Hi Yourself!!!

Smexy Jenn: Tell us 5 fun facts about your book
Author Jenn: Well, 1. It’s illustrated

2. it’s a serial novel, in six parts. That’s different from a series, this has to be read in order to get the full story.

3. There are TWO heroes and TWO heroines!

4. It’s a time-travel, but it’s more fish-out-of-water than H.G. Wellian, so a bit different from your common time-travel romance.

5. It has been on the top 100 for Time-travel romance for over a year and WON the BOOKIE at Authors After Dark for BEST Historical Romance of 2011!!!

I’m adding one more… IT LAUNCHED STUDIO SMEXY.

Smexy Jenn: Did you know of Studio Smexy before it ended up on your cover?
Author Jenn: NOPE!!

Smexy Jenn: How well does the cover illustrate your vision of the hero/heroine? Of the story?
Author Jenn: Well, since the covers, all eight of them now, were shot specifically for this book, by me, it couldn’t possibly be a better representation of the book.

Smexy Jenn: If you could pick one element for your cover, what would it be? (chest, landscape, dress…)
Author Jenn: ohhhh…. see even I don’t know the answers to these questions. PASSION.

Smexy Jenn: Describe your cover in one word (smexy or sexy doesn’t count)
Author Jenn: Different.

Smexy Jenn: Describe yourself in one word
Author Jenn: Insane.

Smexy Jenn: What can readers expect from you next?
Author Jenn: I am working on the audiobook for The Rake And The Recluse, as well as #Twitchy, infamous as she is now, in between shoots and other Studio Smexy craziness.

Smexy Jenn: Is there more #StudioSmexy in your future?
Author Jenn: As long as y’all keep coming back for it, there will be smexy 🙂

jenn LeBlanc author and photographer of smexy romanceColorado. Canon. Curls. CJs. Chuck Norris.
Born and raised in a household of other people’s children in this beautiful state —very nearly with a camera in hand— she never left. She started her own family, got used to the curls, went to college, built a CJ, started a business, and totally beat the daylights out of Chuck Norris, all with a camera in hand.

Spending her days in parenting chat rooms she got highly adept with one-handed typing and she can still type just about as fast with one hand as she can with two. It’s a great talent to have when engrossed in a scene and in need of a hit of caffeine. Once she finished her first novel she quickly realized: She was born a photographer.

From the realization that someone ELSE would be shooting the cover of HER book her control-freak took over. What started as an easy cover shoot ballooned into this completely new kind of media, designed specifically for digital book readers.

She lives and thrives off chaos and the constant flow of the creative process. She wears shorts and flip-flops year-round —much to the chagrin of her friends and family— an
d she is currently working on the illustrations for her second novel. Her first serial novel THE RAKE AND THE RECLUSE is doing its own Chuck Norris impersonation with the time travel charts on Amazon. You can find her on Twitter and Facebook sharing eye candy (NSFW) and being a total rock star.

  1. Ah, Jenn, you are a joy to know, how hard was it to interview yourself???
Ah, I still remember my cover shoot with Derek, so fun, he was so sweet, even if he was so tired and jet-lagged and wiped out from shooting outside all morning. I was just looking at the pictures you did of Denny and I too, brought a smile to my face.

  2. Ellen Thompson says:

I love the covers of your books. It sounds like an interesting read. I will have to check it out!

Its the hot sweaty muscles that get me.. I have tons of covers that I love.. I have to say.. Yours are super smexy(But you know this) so I have to find other smexy ones that arent yours!! (And there are tons of menage ones that give me yummy shivers!
        Chris NoOne

      • Jenn says:

Menage is hard to shoot! LOL. I love doing it, but it seriously like playing twister in the studio, this hand here, that one there. I have everyone do jazz hands until I get them all sorted out!! It’s fun. 🙂

      • no1lefthere says:

        Hmmmmm Twister…..

  4. Gwen says:

You have beautiful covers. I think one of my favorite covers of all time would have to be from the book The Flame and the Flower by Kathleen Woodwiss. It was the beginning of my love affair with romance.

    • Jenn says:

Gwen I hear about that book from so many people!! It’s amazing how much one book touched so many readers. I just love it. Thank you!!

  5. Amy Hart says:

Any cover on Cassie Edwards’ novels featuring American Indian men. They are very very sexy!!

    • Jenn says:

Oh really?!?! I’ll go look, I’m actually casting for some American Indian men this year, I’m looking forward to the shoots 🙂

      Thanks Amy!

  6. ohpinon says:

I love the cover of TRATR redux…mostly because of that crop. Also because I saw it in blue and orange before it was decided it would be a big PINK! book.

  7. What a fitting way to wrap up a great tour! Love your covers, Jenn, & can’t wait to read the serial. Thanks for being such a talented gal all the way around … and I love that you are insane 🙂 Being zany myself, I value the ability to operate beyond the norms of sanity … and I think most writers would agree (how would we get anything done otherwise?)!

    • Jenn says:

Isn’t that SO true Grace?!? It’s the only word that would come to mind… and it beat up all the others that tried. So there it is 🙂 Thank you for coming on the TOUR!! It was lovely to have you 🙂

  8. Kati says:

What do I win? Haha. Kidding. My favorite cover is that Delilah Marvelle one. You know. 🙂 Congrats on all this success with Studio Smexy Jenn!!! *smooches*

  9. Rana Adams says:

Jenn, what a great giveaway!!! Thank you for sharing!! I do not have one specific cover because I love so many so I am going to say any cover with Derek on it! 🙂 Much luv to you!!!!

    • Jenn says:

AW!! You are so awesome, I love Derek covers. He does get around, but he is like a chameleon, which is cool. 🙂

  10. There’s so many to choose from! I think my favorite is “The Ugly Duchess” by Eloisa James. I just like the colors and the flow.
    Thank you for the giveaway.

  11. Obviously I’m drawn to a great image, LOL. That is the first thing that drew me to The Rake and the Recluse. I absolutely adored the idea of illustrating a romance novel, then I saw the images and knew it was a match made in heaven 🙂 Congrats Jenn! Studio Smexy is serendipity!

My favorite book cover…egads that’s a hard one. Most recently it was Ride the Fire by Pamela Clare (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-j6iLYYQXbls/UQpiFTBO6II/AAAAAAAAAfU/CaZtrjLCuGE/s1600/RidetheFire.jpg),

I’ve also been blown away by Hook & Jill by Andrea Jones (http://www.reginettapress.com/hookandjill/images/coverhookjill-400.jpg), I love the movie poster sumptuousness of it.

And I love the simplicity and character in Manda Collins covers (http://therevolvingbook.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/how-to-dance-with-a-duke.jpg)

When it comes to smexy I just love Taking a Shot by Jaci Burton

    These are also yummy 🙂

Love the backside in The Pickpocket Countess http://img1.fantasticfiction.co.uk/images/n50/n253068.jpg
    Sinful by Charlotte Featherstone http://historicalromance.myzen.co.uk/h/978-0-373-60543-9.jpg

I could really go on for days 🙂 You shouldn’t have asked that question, but it’s great research!

  12. lisacarlton says:

I love looking at all of your covers….they are beautiful…..the stories sound amazing I have to check them out and add to my TBR list

  13. traceytax2 says:

My favorite book cover is “Taking a Shot” by Jaci Burton because that hockey skate carrying man is RIPPED AND I LOVE ABS! Just droolworthy…. Tasty…..pants slipping down his abdomen….*sigh*……

  14. traceytax2 says:

http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1308320639l/11455168.jpg . Here is a link! I forgot to add it…I was so distracted by the abs…..

  15. Cherie Clark says:

Hey my favourite covers are the ones for Cherise Sinclairs Shadowland series, sorry tech phobis so have no idea how to upload link. Hope you have a great Valentines Day. xxoo

  16. tara says:

I have two faves- the original cover for Wild Card by Lora Leigh and Breaking Point by Pamela Clare. Sexy stuff!

  17. SheriV says:

Love this book. I own it in huge print form. My favorite cover right now is Brave are the Lonely by Heather Long. And it’s studio smexy. I’m also love Patricia Briggs covers for their vibrant colors.

    Love you Jenn

  18. Tina D says:

I ❤ everything you have done but I would love you more if you gave me you know who's address.

  19. Congrats Jenn! It’s been such a fun week 🙂 Studio Smexy was serendipitous. I’m so glad that things have gone so well for you, and I hope that The Rake and the Recluse gains even more popularity because I still love the concept of illustrated romance novels. I’m drooling over those images above from the book 🙂

Some of my fav covers…I wouldn’t even know where to begin, but here are a few of my most recent favorites:

Bared to You by Sylvia Day, the original, not the current one (which I don’t really care for) http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-8ZwZfQIzPaw/T5gRFifT7KI/AAAAAAAAGig/OHEDySIoJZI/s1600/baredtoyou.jpg

And I normally don’t really care for models looking at the reader, but this cover from Manda Collins I LOVE. I love the simplicity of it so that her expression really stands out. http://therevolvingbook.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/how-to-dance-with-a-duke.jpg

I also like her new one http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-6Sx0TgOuetI/UNI5kAeDoNI/AAAAAAAAPDc/hRgpypbkIZI/s1600/Why+Dukes+Say+I+Do+-+Manda+Collins.jpg

I also think this one is quite sexy and everyone is wearing all of their clothes. It’s the pants, and maybe it has something to do with the tush too, LOL. http://img1.fantasticfiction.co.uk/images/n50/n253068.jpg

Then there is Taking a Shot by Jaci Burton. When everyone says man titty covers are so over, I bring this series up, because hello…I rest my case http://jaciburton.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/Taking-A-Shot-Medium.jpg

Finally, last but most certainly not least my most recent cover love was with Pamela Clare’s Ride the Fire. It’s old school passionate, and let’s not forget the man chest…and thighs and love the color. Really, I love everything about it 🙂

Congrats again, and here’s to an even better 2013!

    • Jenn says:

Thank you Carrie!!! I’m so glad you had fun on the tour with us! I know exactly what covers you’re talking about without looking, how funny is that? I like all of those, I think they’re fabulous 🙂

  20. Himeko says:

I know I love covers but I can’t think of a number one so here are a few I like: Nalini SIngh’s Hostage to Pleasure or Kiss of Snow http://nalinisingh.com/psy.php or the original TRATR cover. There’s just something about it that just calls to me, I think its the love you feel between Francine and Roxleigh in the picture.

    • Jenn says:

Aw thank you Himeko!! I do love the original TRATR cover so much. It really did show everything right there, huh? Nalini has some fab covers too!

      Thank you!!

  21. Kieu nguyen says:

  25. Amy Hart says:

Bertrice Small, any book because what lies beneath the cover is what is truly sexy.

  26. Elizabeth Gray says:

Love the interview. I read part of the book, and can’t wait to get to the rest of it. It really keeps your attention. And of course the pictures just make it that much more visual. Can’t wait until the audio version is released.

  27. Janie McGaugh says:

Don’t know that I can say I really have a favorite; I love so many of them! One recent one that I particularly like is Jeaniene Frost’s Night Prince.
