Lucky Seven
The inimitable Tiffany Reisz tagged me in a game of LUCKY SEVEN. A writer tagged in this game goes to page 77 of their WIP (work-in-progress), finds line number seven, and copies the next seven lines.
So this little excerpt is from #TWITCHY…
He cleared his throat then, and she felt her jaw relax a bit too much.
“I could only hope that you would also be terribly happy, and perhaps even one day you would come to love me as well.”
As well. That bit echoed in her head for a bit of time. Had he said “as well?” Yes, which meant—to her mind—that he already did.
Love her, that is.
Well that was handy 🙂
Now to pick seven victims authors to pass the torch to…
hmmm
GREAT excerpt! So awesome!
Thanks for being such a great sport, Jenn!

I don’t have a page 77 yet.
Oh yeah, you’re writing a novella, I was thinking you were almost finished with your current WIP, but it’s a bit different. 😦 SHOOT. And here I wanted a teaser 😉
Great excerpt, Jenn. I just love the romantic scenes. Here’s my Lucky Seven. This is from The Marchioness of Mystery, but I promise you that won’t be the real title. It will be out in spring 2013.
“Don’t care,” the barkeep answered and moved away.
Fitzhugh gave her a shrug. “That didn’t go as planned.”
“Ask one of the serving wenches,” she told him. “They’re probably not immune to your charms.”
He grinned. “I have charms?”
She shook her head, refusing to answer. Fitzhugh smiled at the next wench who passed him, and she paused, keeping a safe distance away. Fallon thought the poor girl had probably been pinched and grabbed more times than she could count. “I need to speak to Gabriel,” he told her.
7 lines from page 77 from my current WIP (FOREVER A LORD)
He shifted closer, the heat of his body drawing unnervingly close. “How old are you?”
She pressed herself harder against the wall, until she felt the plaster beneath the silk embroidered paper. “Old enough. Why?”
One hand and then another pressed against the wall beside her head, blocking her in with his muscled frame. “Old enough for what?”
A strange fluttering overtook her stomach as he hovered above her in dominating silence. “Old enough to know you are standing far too close.”
HOT DAMN!!!!! Can’t wait for this story D…

Here is Joanna Bourne’s, she posted it on her blog here: http://jobourne.blogspot.com/2012/03/what-im-doing.html
Some man had a sweet lover waiting for him. He wondered if she’d be sharing a bed tonight with somebody on Meeks Street.
Let’s get this over with. The mug of ale was still full when he slid it onto the nearest table. He set a coin beside it and picked his bag up, taking it left-handed so he’d have his knife hand free.
Nobody looked up to see him leave. It was a point of pride to him that nobody noticed.
He checked to make sure nobody followed him out of the Dog. It was habit. Just habit. He had all the habits of a spy.
And here is Maire Claremont’s! She has TWO WIPs right now, and they are both hot and spicy…
